About Verb and Adverb

Next disscussion is about verb and adverb.


VERB AND ADVERB

VERB
Verb - action, occured, state of being.
Main verb - head of verb phrase in a sentence or clause.

Types of Verb
Based on the roles:
1. Primary auxiliary (to be, do, have)
2. Modality auxiliary (may, might, can, could, will, would, ought to, shall, should, etc)
3. Emphasize auxiliary (emphasize the verb, e.g: do, does)

Based on the object:
1. Transitive verb 
    Verb that need an object
    e.g: Zayn needs newspaper every morning.
2. Intransitive verb
    Verb that does not need an object
    e.g: Yoona arrives at 11 p.m.

Based on the changes:
1. Regular verb
    e.g: talk  talked  talked
           type typed   typed
2. Irregular verb
    e.g: eat   ate      eaten
           see   saw    seen

Based on (keterbatasan pengaruh oleh sesuatu yang lain)
1. Finite
    Verbs that shows the influence of tenses, person and number in a sentence or clause.
    e.g: Anna has been walking for an hour.
2. Non finite
    Verbs that does not shows the influence of tenses, person and number in a sentence or clause.
    e.g: Ariana wants to make a rice cake.

Based on the action:
1. Action verb
    Show:
    activitiy, e.g: Ronald is making a cake.
    process, e.g: The cheese melts.
    emotions, e.g: Diana loves her mother so much.
    mental states, e.g: She remembers the accident.
2. Stative verb
    e.g: Draco smells fishy







ADVERB
Adverbs are words that change or qualify the meanings of other words, clauses and sentences.
Functions of adverb are:
1. Explains verb
    e.g: He always speaks with her friends.
2. Explains adjective
    e.g: The t-shirt is very expensive.
3. Explains adverb
    She walks quite slowly.

Types of adverb:
1. Adverb of time
    e.g: She is walking alone every day
2. Adverb of place and direction
    e.g: There is a cute kitten under the table
3. Adverb of manner
    e.g: He runs quickly
4. Adverb of degree
    e.g: I almost be your lover
5. Adverb of modality or certainly
    e.g: Maybe he just want your attention
6. Adverb of frequency
    e.g: We often buy some vegetables in the market
7. Adverb of purpose
    e.g: I call my brother to help me do the tasks
8. Focusing adverb
    e.g: This candies sale for Indonesia only
